My Problem with "The Devil Wears Prada"

First, let me preface that I don't think this movie was bad, I actually enjoyed parts of it. But that also doesn't mean that I would really watch it again.

I hope to watch this movie and get some inspiration from it because I absolutely adore the fashion magazine publishing industry, but there really wasn't anything there that could comfort me in the way I was hoping.

Andy (Anne Hathaway) was already an individual who didn't want a life in fashion, she just wanted to be a journalist but that quickly changed when she wanted to impress her boss, Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) for the magazine. In my mind, Andy's character should've evolved into this new version of herself and she would realize how lucky she is to be a part of this magazine, but it doesn't seem like she is despite everyone telling her that every girl would kill to have the job she has.

So, in my mind, the major problem with this movie was that the characters did not seem to develop cohesively with the story which resulted in an almost dull plot line. And Nigel deserved so much better :(

Rating: 3/5 stars

But on a high note, I thought each character individually performed their role amazingly and I wouldn't change anything about their characters and I also thought that it was still an interesting story.

I really wish I liked this better than I do and I usually am never this negative on a fan favorite film, but I feel like it was necessary for keeping an unbiased opinion on every film I see.

I would really like to hear everyone else's thoughts on this movie!
